Momentum for PBM Reform is Building

Contact Congress to Make Your Voice Heard!

The Federal Trade Commission’s July 9 release of its preliminary report on PBM practices intensified federal scrutiny of ongoing PBM abuses and self-dealing that harm patients, drive up drug prices and keep independent pharmacies struggling to stay open.

Since then, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee held a dramatic hearing on July 1 in which several members denounced multiple PBM practices while openly questioning the honesty of the three PBM executives who testified. The hearing underscores the true bipartisan support for PBM reform: during the hearing, Republicans and Democrats alike expressed the desire to work together on federal legislation.

Enthusiasm for PBM reform is surging in Congress, and key allies like U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia are working tirelessly to build support for passing reforms this year. But we can’t stand by and just wait for Congress to act. Now is the time to add your voice to the chorus speaking out against the PBMs. Your input is vital to help this effort build momentum, so please go to our Action Center and use our resources to craft a communication to your congressional delegation.
